Hello!

I am Enikő, aka WinEncsy, a Certified Sommelier originally from Hungary, but now settled down in Vienna, Austria with my toddler and husband. And this is my wine story…

Before settling in this beautiful city, I had the chance to see a bit of the World. I have lived 5 years in France after leaving Hungary in 2011. Then I have spent another 2 and a half years in London which I’ve left in 2018. After I have embarked on a journey of a half year in Tahiti. During my time there, we have decided to travel back to Europe with my husband to Austria and start a family here.

I have hospitality education from my homeland and France where I was studying only the basics about wines, but my main knowledge comes from my time in London.  The first course I attended was the UK Sommelier Association (UKSA) which is the italian AIS based in the UK. While taking the course, I have got my first sommelier job in the city and it encouraged me to take the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) course and finish their level 2 and 3. I have changed my workplace after the WSET courses to work in a Michelin-starred restaurant as a sommelier to gain more knowledge and experience. At the end of 2018 and my time in London, I passed the Court of Master Sommelier Introductory and Certified Levels as well.

In 2019 I was travelling around Australia and New Zealand and I have tried to visit as much of the wineries and vineyards as I could. This travel inspired me to start this blog back in 2019, you can already read a lot about my journey on those continents. Since then I try to visit and taste as many wineries and wines as I can. Although with a toddler, it is sometimes way harder than it looks…

After Covid and maternity leave, I have jumped back to the World of Wines again, and I could attend some trips and judge on competitions as well, like the Radici del Sud in Italy in 2022 and I got to be in the panel of the Winelovers Wine Awards competition in Budapest in 2023.

What’s in the future? More articles filled with wine knowledge and soon I would like to continue my studies and finish the WSET Level 4 (the Diploma) too.

In my opinion, it is important to introduce myself to see how I am interested, knowledgeable and passionate about wines to understand why I started this blog. My goal is to provide information for people who wants to learn more about wines and introduce my journey as well.

I am available for online tastings and study sessions for individuals and for partnerships for wineries and brands, please check out the links for more information.

I hope you will join me on this journey and you will have some fun reading my stories.

If you have any question or suggestion or just want to contact me, send me message, I would love to hear from you!

Xoxo,

Eniko (WinEncsy)
